No but seriously, I love shoes! I think I get it from my mama. Actually, I know I get it from my mama.
So it takes some time to find quality shoes at a thrift store especially when you're not an average shoe size (Ex. womens size 5, 6, 7 or 8). I'm only 5'3" but I wear a 9 in womens. I could possibly squeeze into an 8 1/2 depending on the style of shoe but I have a wide foot and appreciate the extra room in the front. Finding a nice shoe in a size 9 at a thrift store is either a hit or miss. Don't get me wrong there are plenty of shoes that are a size 9 but most of them don't fit my aesthetic aka they're not cute.
One random Saturday I decided to go to Buffalo Exchange in Astoria and I guess it was my lucky day. I was immediately drawn to these shoes because they looked so much like the Cutout Buckle Boot from Balenciaga. If you clicked on the link you can see these Balenciaga's are a pretty penny so no one was going to purchase those exact ones but after seeing these lookalikes that just so happened to be my size I was super excited to get them. The brand of my shoe is River Island -- they're sold out at the moment and I couldn't find a nice enough similar boot to link you to but if I do I'll surely let you know.
I like the feminine touch these boot brings to my outfit but there's also a masculine look about them that I love since I style them in an androgynous way. A major plus is they're super comfortable as well. I wore a tan sock with these boots since it's Winter time. The cut out part is lovely but I wasn't trying to freeze to death. I can't wait for it to get warmer so I can wear these and let my feet breathe.
I'm also wearing a windbreaker from Forever 21. I couldn't find the exact one on their website but here's something similar and actually cuter lol. I'm wearing my go to drop crotch black pants and decided to keep the outfit simple so my shoes could do most of the talking.
I love shoes, hence the title of this blog entry so as I start to add more shoes to my wardrobe you will be seeing them on here!
